Hello, my name is Kang Zhe. Welcome to my website.

I am a final year undergraduate student in the National University of Singapore studying pure mathematics. I am interested in logic. I have completed the math-related requirements for my degree, and will no longer be taking mathematics classes formally in NUS.

Classes I Intend to Take this Semester

  1. CS2030 Programming Methodology II
  2. CS2040 Data Structures and Algorithms
  3. LAJ3204 Business Japanese 2
  4. NHS2085 Fear and the Supernatural Landscape
  5. NST2030 Quantum Computation

I might also audit these classes:

  1. MA4266 Introduction to Algebraic Topology
  2. MA5266 Optimisation

I am currently on a semester-long exchange at Rikkyo University, where I am taking an assortment of Japanese lingusitics classes and Introduction to Number Theory.

My other projects include learning Japanese, and attempting to read The Art of Computer Programming in Japanese. Some of my friends have introduced me to this book, and I thought it would be a good idea to try doing it in Japanese.

I am fluent in English and Chinese, and currently conversational for Japanese. I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 Level in December 2025, though I would not consider myself anywhere near a proficient user of the language yet. If I had to rate myself with the CEFR, I would say I am around C1.

I sometimes also solve twisty puzzles. For this month, I am focusing on the blindfolded events. I hope to get a new 4x4x4 Blindfolded single. You might be able to find me in local competitions in Singapore. I mainly act as a competition organiser these days.

I can be contacted at nkz dot u dot nus dot edu. Feel free to disturb me.
